Vantor company, which specializes in space-to-ground intelligence, received a contract from the US Space Force within the framework of the Joint Commercial Operations program. The company's task is to ensure continuous tracking of objects, passing through the orbital sections, unavailable to ground sensors.
For this, Vantor will use non-Earth imagery, NEI — high-detail images of spacecraft, which allow to determine their position, trajectory and state. This will help to maintain constant control over the objects, that can change the orbit, posing security risks to US satellites.
Thanks to satellites, able to receive images with a resolution of less 10 cm even from hundreds of kilometers, the company can quickly identify devices and assess their technical condition.
This contract is one of several, which Vantor (formerly known as Maxar Intelligence) recently won Space Domain Awareness. The company also participates in the US Department of Commerce's Commercial COLA Gap Pathfinder program, aimed at improving the coordination of space traffic immediately after satellite launches, when the data on their position is still inaccurate.
in addition, Vantor is included in the sixth set of the Space Force's Apollo Accelerator incubator, where it helps automate the acquisition and analysis of NEI images for rapid response to potential threats in orbit.
The company positions itself as a leader in the development of spatial intelligence, which combines data from satellites, air and ground sensors into a single digital model of the Earth, providing military and analysts with information for rapid decision-making.
