Vantor won the NGA contract for 5,3 million dollars to detect landscape changes using commercial satellite data

5 February 2026 Vantor company of the year (formerly known as Maxar Intelligence) officially received a contract from the US National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (that) for the amount 5,3 a million dollars.

Key details of the deal:

Program: The contract was concluded within the framework of the Luno B program, which is aimed at using commercial data, machine learning and AI to analyze changes in the Earth's surface.

Technology: Vantor will use its own AI models to detect changes in road infrastructure, vegetation, buildings and assessment of the consequences of natural or man-made disasters.

Data sources: The company will combine its own high-resolution satellite imagery (30 cm) with external data, including radar systems (SAR), to create a complete picture regardless of weather conditions.

Goal: The results of the analysis will help update the NGA land cover classification system and provide policymakers with operational intelligence, military and rescuers.
