Korea Aerospace Exploration Agency (FAIL) officially approved 7 October 2026 as the date of the fifth launch of the fully domestically produced Nuri launch vehicle (KSLV-II). This decision was announced following the results of the first meeting of the launch management committee in Sacheon.
Key details of Nuri's fifth mission (Nuriho)
Launch time and place: The launch is scheduled from the Naro Space Center in the time window between 12:23 and 13:23 local time (with 06:23 to 07:23 Kyiv time). Experts will determine the exact time directly on the day of the flight, depending on weather conditions.
Backup window: In the event of unforeseen delays or inclement weather, the reserve period for the launch is set with 8 by 14 October 2026 year.
Record payload: This mission will become historic in terms of the number of devices — the rocket will put a record number into orbit 15 satellites.
The composition of the satellite group:
The main cargo is 5 ultra-small cluster satellites (blocks #2–6), developed by the KAIST satellite research center for high-precision monitoring in the interests of national security and emergency response.
Together with them will fly 10 cubits (CubeSats), created by universities, research institutes and private companies for civilian scientific research.
Currently, the final assembly of the rocket is underway directly at the cosmodrome, and at the beginning of September, KASA will conduct large-scale comprehensive training with participation 12 government and military organizations to practice actions in the event of any emergency situations.
